The AORN Connecticut Chapter is excited to announce the 2025 Call for Nominations for leadership roles within our chapter. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with and support your chapter while fostering professional growth and collaboration.
Open Positions (5 total):
- President-Elect (1-year term, followed by 2 years as President and 1 year as President Ex Officio)
- The responsibilities of the position include observing and assisting the President to prepare for assuming the duties and responsibilities of the office. Duties include supporting the President as requested, representing the Chapter at meetings, serving as Congress delegate and chair, and supporting the nominating committee
- Secretary (2-year term)

This role plays a pivotal part in maintaining accurate records, facilitating communication, and ensuring the smooth operation of our organization. The Secretary will be responsible for documenting meetings, managing correspondence, and supporting the administrative functions of the board. The term of office for the Secretary position is two years

- Nominating Chair (2-year term)
- The person in this position takes on a leadership role to oversee and coordinate the work of the nominating committee, ensuring the nomination and election process runs smoothly and aligns with the chapter's bylaws and procedures
- Board Member (2-year term) & Interim Board Member (1-year term)

As a Board Member, you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making, policy development, and the overall direction of our organization. Board Members play a key role in governance, providing leadership, and representing the interests of our members and stakeholders. The term of office for the Board Member position is two years.

Eligibility:
- Must be a current AORN Connecticut Chapter member.
- Must have an interest in engaging with and supporting the chapter.
- President-Elect Requires also having served at least one year on the AORN CT Board and attended 4 AORN events in the past year
Nomination Process:
- Self-nominations or nominations of others are welcome.
- Submit nominations via email to AORNCT0701@gmail.com
- Include the following information in your nomination:
- Nominee’s full name & credentials
- Nominee’s contact information
- Nominated Position
Key Dates:
- Nomination Deadline: April 14, 2025
- Ballot Finalization: May 4, 2025 (in collaboration with the Nominating Committee)
- Voting Deadline: June 4, 2025 (finalized at an in-person event, location TBD)
Candidate Requirements:
To be added to the ballot, Nominees must:
- Complete a "Willingness to Serve" form (attached)
- Submit a personal statement (100 words or less) to introduce themselves to chapter members. This statement should highlight their qualifications, goals, and reasons for seeking the position.
- Provide a casual photo to be shared with members.
Voting Process:
- Voting will take place via surveys sent to AORN Connecticut Chapter members.
- Final votes will also be collected during the in-person event on June 4, 2025.
We encourage all members to consider nominating themselves or someone they believe would be an asset to our leadership team. Your participation ensures the continued success and vitality of our chapter.
