Good Evening Members!

I wanted to reach out with a great opportunity to engage in the legislative process as it relates to defining scope and standards for Advance Practice Registered Nurses.

The CT Registered Nurse Anesthetists group have reached out asking for public comment on their request to modify the APRN scope and standard of practice as it sits within the Department of Public Health. I have attached the AORN CT position statement on the matter for your review. You can review the changes suggested by following the link at the bottom of this message.

I would love to offer an opportunity to participate in the virtual scope committee meetings that will be conducted with the DPH. You will be able to influence the practice guidelines of our CRNA partners through providing valuable insight as a direct partner in care.

AORN is committed to safe patient care, and as advocates for our patients and ourselves it is fully within our own scope to participate in this committee and provide perspective on decisions that are made here. Please consider lending your voice to this process.

Expectations for engagement in the committee would be that you are able to attend the virtual meetings and provide a report out to the board to share with membership.

If anyone is interested please reach out to AORNCT0701@gmail.com for more information.
