Virtual BINGO for the AORN Foundation

Thank you to all the chapters who supported a tremendously successful 2024 fundraiser for the AORN Foundation. Together, we brought perioperative nurses and their family and friends together to learn about the AORN Foundation while having some fun. We raised $7500 for the AORN Foundation to support perioperative nurses’ professional development.

Last year was sponsored by 11 AORN chapters. We had tremendous support from the AORN Foundation and AORN Chapter Relations.

Here are the details for 2025:

Virtual event on Zoom open to any participants – nurses, family and friends of all ages.

Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at 7p EST

Day Of: We will play 10 Games of Bingo. Each winner (can be multiple per game) receives a $50 amazon gift card via email. Game play takes about 2 hours with 1 short break and short presentations about the AORN Foundation throughout the evening (This helps break up the games and allows people to learn about where their money is going). I will facilitate the program.

We use the https://myfreebingocards.com/ platform. Connecticut Chapter 0701 will assume the fees from the platform. 

The AORN Foundation will create a website for direct card purchasing. Each bingo card is $10. You can purchase as many cards as you would like. And each card is played for every game. 

AORN Chapter Relations helps us manage Zoom so we can have a large participation in Meeting style.

The process is participants purchase cards through the Foundation. In the week leading up to the event, each individual will receive a personalized email with their unique bingo card(s), directions and the Zoom link. I will organize this.

My ask and chapter requirements:

Each co-hosting chapter will provide $150 to AORN CT 0701 (this covers prizes) sent out by our chapter after the games. After winner prizes, all remaining funds are donated to the Foundation. Payment can be in the form of check or Venmo - details given with commitment. 

Promote, Promote, Promote - the more cards sold, the more participants and the greater the impact on the AORN Foundation. I will create a flyer for you to share. Help spread the word.

Matching donor - Do you know a vendor or other sponsor that would like to make a donation or create a matching donation as cards are sold? They would also be highlighted on the website and on promotional materials.

I ask for co-hosting commitments from chapters by 8/30/25.
